Take a Peek at the Traditional Swedish Crayfish Party.

The annual crayfish party (or kräftskiva in Swedish) is a tradition the Swedish part of Vesle never wants to miss out on!. You can celebrate it throughout August and it’s usually spent with the whole family and friends. You eat as much crayfish as you can, together with bread, strong cheese and Västerbotten pie. Don’t forget the cold beer and the inevitable Swedish schnapps (aquavit).

Dad with all the "gold" ...

You kind of need a lot of props: balloons, paper lanterns, bibs, tablecloth, colourful plates and the paper hats of course.

Favourite nr. two on the menu, Västerbotten pie. It's as tasty as it is beautiful. My sister made this and it was SO good!.

The best combination, crayfish with lot's of crown dill.

The traditional smiling full moon, both scary and fun at the same time.

It can be a bit tricky the first time but it's all about the technique.

it's a real family affair and memories I treasure from my own childhood.

And when the sun starts to set it's time for a stroll down to the water for an evening dip.

The perfect ending.
